For far too long communism has threatened to wipe out baseball as we know it. Tonight Ichiro can put an end to all of this with one, or many, swings of the bat.

In a game with the intensity of a World Series Game Seven, Korea beat Japan 2-1 last night to secure a spot in the World Baseball Classic semifinals. Ichiro didn't take the defeat lightly, showing emotion on the field for the first time we've ever seen.

Seattle baseball fans stand at the ledge of a great divide today, which is why the World Baseball Classic is so awesome. Do you love Ichiro, or do you love America? It's a good thing for all of us that it's not 1944.

Not only can you watch the World Baseball Classic live on KIRO's channel 117 (including tonight's pivotal Japan/Korea tilt), tomorrow you'll be able to watch live NCAA tournament basketball--a different game than KIRO is showing on its regular feed. That's two games.

Sunday afternoon the Washington Huskies basketball team acted like they had been there before. CBS cameras captured the team politely reacting to the announcement that they had made the NCAA Tournament as a five seed.

Comcast Channel 117 normally shows a live video feed of the departures drop-off at Sea-Tac Airport, but for some reason they've decided to reach out to an audience other than aviation enthusiasts and broadcast the World Baseball Classic. Every game that's tape-delayed by ESPN can be seen live on Channel 117, which is also digital channel 7.2.

Ichiro's Japanese team was expected to advance to the second round of the World Baseball Classic. And they did.

Rainier Beach, Seattlest's favorite high school hoops team, got upset in the state quarterfinals last night, by Lynden High. But, really, what chance did they stand against a team that has players with names like Dirk Dallas and Brady Bomber. Dallas had 19 points, Bomber had 15. Is this a high school basketball team or a 30's detective novel?
