With dear, sweet Jens Lekman in town for a two-night stand at the Croc, you'd think it'd be easy to find a way to see him one of those dates. But no! Jens has some serious live music competition. Thursday night at the Showbox, there's an all-ages show with Metric, starring the lovely and talented Emily Haines. It's sold out, but as always, where there's a will, there's a Craigslist posting. And then Friday night you've got the tough call of Jens or Handsome Furs at Neumo's, the husband-wife duo featuring Dan "Jimmy Legs" Boeckner from Wolf Parade. Bad timing for Jens, but good timing for the rest of Seattle.

Get Out: Wolf Parade and Foals at Neumo's Tonight
Still not Sub Popped out? After a long weekend chockablock of 20th anniversary festivities, Sub Pop has one more show to offer: tonight at Neumo's, it's Wolf Parade and Foals (along with openers The Listening Party). Even though the lineup has been "secret" for a while now, that Wolf Parade was playing was kinda obvious (see clues here). Foals was unexpected, though. Neumo's just made the official announcement of tonight's bill, noting that "tickets are already selling fast, even with the last-minute announcement." Tickets are available through Ticketswest and at the Moe Bar box office, which opens at 3 p.m. sharp.
Sea Wolf / Fleet Foxes @ Chop Suey
Last Friday we saw Sea Wolf at Chop Suey. We found this Pop Matters review of their first full-length album, but if you'd like to learn more, here's an interview by Sound on the Sound.
Apologies to the Tobias is Queen Mary
Monday night at the Showbox, things were just a little off. In the smokers' area outside the venue, a blond dude writhed on the ground, either having a seizure or a "seizure," we couldn't tell which. The venue's bouncers were being tough on digital SLR cameras, due to their potential use as weapons (whaaa?). Right next door at the Green Room, some guy was getting kicked out and a girl was crying. Meanwhile, inside the sold-out all-ages show, it was hot, at least a thirty-degree temperature difference between the venue and outside. Wait a minute---doesn't the Showbox have air-conditioning? Isn't that what caused their little fire earlier this month? Turn that shit on! It would've saved Seattlest from sweating like a pig.

A: A night in Seattle, having some drinks, and listening to live music that doesn't blow ass.
Elsewhere In The Ist-a-verse
that we want to kill anyone and everyone that makes a "something on a something" joke. But then we realized that there was no way we could ever win this fight, and, hell, if you can't beat them, we might as well join them. And with that, you have the theme of this weeks' Gothamist network post.
Danielson at Chop Suey A Few Nights Ago
Danielson took the stage around 11:30. The crowd steadily filed in from their twenty-minute smoke breaks. Ben Gibbard of Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie fame showed up following the opening band.more ›
Things to Do, Besides Awesome Concerts
There's a whole bunch of good shows coming up these next few days, so if you didn't get Arcade Fire or Death Cab tickets (both long sold out) and if you're also skipping Wolf Parade's solo set at the Croc (for which you would be both unbelievably short-sighted and incredibly lame), you can spend your evenings at few other events going on around town---
