• The Seattle Transit Blog finally coughed up their "what's best for the future of Seattle transit" endorsements for the upcoming primary election.
• Seattle police were able to bring a dear 85-year old Wonedith Peters her beloved dog Suzie back, after a man stole the dog from her home last month.

Undoubtedly you are already on your way to White River, wearing your finest American flag halter top and blasting "Girls, Girls, Girls." We know you are very excited for Motley Crue (set to play Dr. Feelgood in its entirety), along with Godsmack, Drowning Pool, Theory of a Deadman, and Charm City Devils, especially if they all collaborate on a live performance of the Crue's new single "White Trash Circus." As for Journey, the enthusiastic and cover-band-ish Not-Steve (aka Arnel Pineda) stole the show with his unflagging energy. No, he's not Steve Perry. But Steve Perry couldn't be leaping around on the stage like that, and Pineda sounds eerily like his predecessor. With the exception of the end of "Don't Stop Believing," Pineda's voice was strong; we got concerned during those few questionable minutes, but Not-Steve fully recovered by the first bars of "Faithfully"--a song which was quite possibly the highlight of Journey's set. The other song we loved was "Lights," during which everyone did the obligatory cell-phone/lighter wave. Journey's new material was not inspired or even interesting, but we weren't there for the new material. We were there for "Ask The Lonely!"

DRINK FOR URBAN ART: The second Northwest location of Upper Playground, a San Francisco-based urban art and clothing store, opens this weekend--and there's a swanky cocktail party/gallery viewing at Chapel on Saturday night to celebrate. The clothing and accessories at Upper Playground are the epitome of dope, but what we're really into is the art. For a sample, check out these poster prints of various artists' renderings of Obama, going for $200 a piece. We're particularly fond of this one by Mear One, an artist who will be doing a "live painting" at the Chapel party.

ARTISTS X-ING, WITH CAMERAS: A motley crew of photographers are gathering down at the Market tonight to explore the area through their camera lenses for the evening. They're meeting at that brass pig by the fish throwers (could this event get any more Seattle?) and will be snapping photos around the Market, downtown, Pioneer Square, the waterfront, and more. It's open to anyone who wants to join in the spirit of discovery and photography.

Keeping in line with last week's rumors, the official word came in this morning that yes, Radiohead would be playing the Seattle area on August 20th, and yes, the show would take place at the middle-of-nowhere shit venue White River Amphitheatre. Expected, but still disappointing. Look, even Thom is upset.
