Last year we lamented the loss of Takohachi, our favorite restaurant for saba shioyaki (grilled mackerel). As much as we loved the fish itself, they served it with a bowl of yaki meshi (fried rice) so full of bacon goodness you’d have been a fool to order the white rice instead. (Rumor has it the Takohachi chef is replicating that fried rice at Uwajimaya in Bellevue. Anyone been?)

Since our teams remain winless this season, Seattlest has decided to do the only logical thing to get us out of this funk...Eat! During Sunday home games, over 67,000 people flood into Qwest Field, and many of those fans stop for lunch along the way. Seattlest gets tired of bar food and $8 stadium dogs, so we asked the guys at MSG150, the International District lunch blog, to help us out with some new suggestions. Sadly, Seattle lacks a Singaporean restaurant. The closest we’ve got are Malay Satay Hut (a favorite!) and Salima, but they’re both primarily Malaysian. So if you can’t go out for Singaporean food, then why not make it yourself?
