In the classic 90s movie Groundhog Day, one man (Bill Murray) keeps repeating the same day over and over again until he learns how not to be a mean, miserable sonofabitch. And, it is funny. At Alpental, we're living another sad day over again, only it isn't funny at all. Everyone who skis or boards, however, could learn something from it.
Another Alpental Accident
It Actually Looked Like This
Seattlest made it up to Alpental yesterday, and we were surprised to discover excellent snow quality, short lines, and mysterious blue sky. We can't claim a full day of non-stop bluebird conditions replete with knee-deep powder, but our first run down Edelweiss bowl found a few untapped caches of the fluffy stuff off to the sides, and we did sport sunglasses while on Chair 2 for a couple runs.
Let's Do the Time Warp...
Seattlest went skiing on Saturday. We got up early, brewed a mean pot of coffee, hurled our gear in the car, and cruised the Outback up I-90 to the pass in eager anticipation of opening day at Alpental. Our heart was all aflutter, pictures of powder-puff drops and Shot 6 whizzing through our mind. We look forward to this milestone every year in...April!?!
