All together now, "Happy Birthday to Pike Place Market, Happy Birthday to you..." Today, Seattle's iconic tourist trap turns the ripe ol' age of 102, and for those who don't want to do the math, it was 1907 when the market first opened. All of the community is invited to celebrate the historic market, during its very own birthday party. Make your way to Pike Place (under the sign and clock) by noon today, so you can snag a slice of birthday cake and hear the tunes of Seattle's The Tallboys.

Stairwell Sisters have joined the slowly growing community of all-girl old-timey bands, and recently released their third album, Get Off Your Money. They do much better when they tackle the traditional fiddle tunes, but their originals do the genre plenty of justice. They’ll be joined at the Tractor tonight by local old-timey heroes the Tallboys.

TEENY BOPPER EXPRESS: Disney's High School Musical opens at the Paramount tonight, so maybe steer clear of the teenagers downtown. If you have your own teenager, maybe it's a good night to set them free with their friends so they can go sing along and goo-goo-ga-ga over the cute boys and dreaminess of this sensational teenfest.
