Observation: Seattlest James hosts trivia at the Old Pequliar on the first Tuesday of the month.

What can we say about Seattlest Trivia that we haven't said before?

On the off chance that you don't know the drill, let us introduce you:

Seattlest Trivia Night knows that tomorrow you’ll either be cursing those receiving flowers or cursing Hallmark for making you spend money on forced jesters of love.

DEMOCRACY: There's a Seattle school levy election today. If you don't know where you are supposed to vote, but know your name and the day you were born, you can look it up online. If you can't get to that place, you can cast a provisional ballot anywhere--just march up to the nice poll-worker ladies at your local school or church and say "I'd like to cast a provisional ballot, please." We did it last election and it worked like a dream.

Expect the usual: geography, movies, pictures, 3 tacos for $2, and mass chaos.

Apparently there's a reason we don't usually start the quiz fuelled by a shot of Jack Daniel's -- we give away answers. Sharp-eared teams -- which was most of them -- noticed that we gave away the answer to a Wizard of Oz question when talking about Hugh Rockoff's interpretation of the book as a parable about the gold standard. We didn't realize it until we were reading the answers, and suddenly understood why Brazilian Mietze had wagged their fingers at us.

Best thing we learned at last night's quiz: Gabriel Garcia Marquez looks like "Agatha Christie on a bad day."

Have you been down in your basement lately?

No longer content to merely talk about pub trivia, Seattlest has decided to host a quiz of our own. Tonight is our official debut.

JJ Hunsecker here. Those in the know think the trivia game at The Old Pequliar is starting to smell like yesterday's fish. You can usually find Seattlest there Tuesday nights, but we were unable to go this week. Turns out we missed quite an event.
