Stunning. On Flickr, Cap'n Surly's "Nighttime at the Arboretum" has been favorited 33 times so far -- it deserves more. It's not often that a piece of our infrastructure looks like an outtake from The Lord of the Rings. We're glad he shared it in the Flickr pool -- and we want to see your masterpieces, too. Are you in?... more ›

We can't remember where we first stumbled across the link, but we've been noodling around with LibraryThing's UnSuggester for the last day or so. more ›

Come On! Feel the Illinoise!

Come On! Feel the Illinoise!

Has Seattlest mentioned that we are in love with Sufjan Stevens? Yes, we love him, but it's totally not in a sexual way. This Week's Newest and Best Music

We are thoroughly unimpressed with the shows in town this week. We will let you decide if that's because there are no good shows or that we are a little dead inside. Despite the lack of good shows, there are some pretty hot new CDs out to satisfy your music fix. more ›

Fazing Arizona

The Washington men's basketball team continued their consistent, poised play with a split of two games in Arizona over the weekend. Even Thursday's 92-81 loss to the Arizona Wildcats demonstrated how good this team is. Despite their worst shooting performance of the season, the Huskies stayed close, in a hostile arena, against the 11th-best team in the country. I don't know if there is a phrase to describe the opposite of a Pyrrhic victory, but this was just that, so for now let's call an encouraging defeat a "Husky special." more ›
