As I headed to Portland yesterday I was leaving stress and most responsibilities behind. The day was gorgeous (a warm 83 degrees), traffic was light and I was on my way to see a ton of incredible musicians for the next five days at MusicFest Northwest. Really, I couldn't imagine a better way to spend my time.

Could the Labor Day weekend have been any better for a festival such as Bumbershoot, we think not. It's been a long time since we've seen the likes of such a varied array of artists so well suited to the music scene in this city.
Romeo + Juliet's Month of May: Sunshine Variations
Romeo + Juliet is comprised of Pittsburgh's Jon-Michael Kerestes and Seattle's chiptune siren Leeni, perhaps it is due to the heated rivalry between the two cities that they came up with the name of their band, but we think that's a stretch.

Another sold out night at the Showbox, a great all-ages lineup at Vera, plus NWFF's series of Lionel Rogosin films continues.
Weekend Music
Tonight, drink pricey beers at the WaMu Theater (hey, they need the money!) before The Kills and The Raconteurs. You best get there early; believe us, it takes a lotta beers to make Jack White look pretty, but no drinks at all to make him sound good.
