FESTIVAL: The first-ever (official) Lebowski fest in Seattle kicks things off at the Showbox. Tonight's the chubby dance-rock of the oft tighty-whitey-clad Har Mar Superstar and a screening of the Coen Brothers' classic. Tomorrow's bowling with The Dude at Kenmore Lanes. Wear your best bathrobe and pound some white Russians, or you'll be out of your element, Donny.

The Dude Lebowski is Jeff Dowd of the Seattle Seven who lives in LA now and does LA type-stuff with film and such. He's working on a book called The Dude Abides which we're looking forward to. Another of the Seattle Seven cropped up today in interview form over on Grist. Rabbi Michael Lerner is still kicking around political scenes with his organization "devoted to developing a spiritual vision for the left."
