The New Old Kid On The Block

The Bad Juju's move to Neumos never really felt quite right. The space was just too different, too wonky, and the place never really got a chance to be it's own thing, acting instead as a stopoff point between bands. The Bad Juju was already dead, but the owners finally made it official by closing down the joint and renovating the space. Tonight the space formerly known as the Bad Juju Lounge finally reopens as Moe Bar, and it looks like a keeper. more ›

SIFFed Out

SIFFed Out

25 days, over 160,000 attendees, 198 narrative films, 60 documentaries, 15 archival films, 4 mystery screenings, and 141 shorts later, the 2006 Seattle International Film Festival is finally over. The Bad JuJu’s scary, Klingon-weapon-looking metal sculptures, once perilously placed above the heads of patrons, are already, as of last Friday, gone from their pillars, and Seattlest’s team of investigative reporters has so far failed to confirm the fate of the resident boa constrictor permanently on display in the aquarium behind the bar. more ›

Firebreathers, Wrestlers, and Vaudevillians Swarm Capitol Hill

Firebreathers, Wrestlers, and Vaudevillians Swarm Capitol Hill

Seattlest is always up for a night of weird insanity and the Third Annual Carnival Reverie at Neumo’s on Sunday, August 7, promises to be just that. The show starts at 7pm and brings forth a twisted eight-hour-long parade of jugglers, clowns, burlesque, sword swallowing, fire breathing, and music. more ›
