After the Bumb Rush: Bumbershoot 2011 in the Rearview Mirror

As the weekend approaches with so much music and performance to get to around town, many are reflecting on (and maybe still recovering from) Bumbershoot. Reviews on last weekend’s festival have been appearing in local websites, with the feedback being quite mixed. Here’s a look at what some are saying about the state of the city’s largest arts fest. more ›

Photo Diary: Sunday at Bumbershoot, or, the Mega-Gallery

             + 11 more

Could the Labor Day weekend have been any better for a festival such as Bumbershoot, we think not. It's been a long time since we've seen the likes of such a varied array of artists so well suited to the music scene in this city. more ›

Weekend Music

The Georgetown Music Fest is the main game in town this weekend and if you're looking to see local music on Saturday or Sunday you'll almost certainly be there at some point. Or you can head back to the Gorge for John Mayer and Ben Folds. Your call. We'll be in Georgetown, and we're specifically looking forward to Voyager One's Saturday night set: more ›

Now that there's a chill in the air, Seattlest has taken to closing our windows at night before curling up in a warm bed with some hot cocoa and earplugs. That's right, it's officially the fall tour season, and there's live music galore. Behold! more ›

The Touch, The Feel of Velouria

The Touch, The Feel of Velouria

If you need a little more impetus to haul over to Ballard, then we suggest checking out one of Velouria's rockin' fashion shows. Once you see the eclecticism offered, you'll make Velouria a must-stop shop on your trip to the Ballard Sunday Market. more ›

Imaginary Radio

Imaginary Radio

Seattle's most webtastic indie rock groupies afficianados Three Imaginary Girls will be kicking it with the pros on Saturday at the KEXP studio for another of their excellent Audioasis appearences. It may sound like a knock when we say "These TIG appearances on Audioasis are great for keeping up with TIG's friends' bands," but then you realize that that encompasses just about anyone playing music in the city. There's only three of them, right? Somehow they seem to shmooze at an easy half dozen shows a night and report on a full ten the next morning, but that's great for everyone who lives an Imaginary Life through their site. Which includes us. That's not to mention that there's just flat out nobody having as much fun on the local internets as Three Imaginary Girls. more ›

Imaginary Wedding Actually Real

Dearly Beloved, we are gathered together here in the Crocodile with Tennis Pro, the Jeunes, Pleasurecraft, and Math and Physics Club--and in the face of this company--to join together this man and this woman in imaginary matrimony, which is commended to be honorable among all men; and therefore--is not by any--to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly--but reverently, discreetly, advisedly and solemnly. Into this imaginary estate these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together--let them speak now or forever hold their peace. more ›
