Can't Miss It: Weekend Edition, June 26-28

WEENIE BLESSING: Eat a free weenie with pride! The BottleNeck Lounge kicks off Gay Pride with a weekend of free hot dogs (and no cover!) on Friday, June 26th at 10:00 p.m., with the fabulous Gina Bling of Team Gina, who will give The Third Annual Hot Dog Blessing. On Saturday and Sunday, the bar will be providing freshly grilled dogs (both veggie and non) to hungry gays and non-gays alike. Fri-Sun. // BottleNeck Lounge, 2328 E. Madison St. // No Cover (21+)

First of all, a couple of logistics. Just a reminder, the only events on Capitol Hill are at the clubs. There are no Pride shuttles, as there have been for certain events in past years. However, the number eight bus (down Denny, from Capitol Hill to Seattle Center) will be running more frequently all weekend.

's status as a cult album.

The above vid is a live performance of "Our Bovine Public," the barrelling leadoff track from The Cribs' latest release, Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever. Even if the album wasn't really, really good (and basically all we've been listening to lately), we'd have to recommend it based on the awesomely ambivalent title alone.

We know that the weather has been rainy and overcast and downright crummy these last few days, but never fear: things are looking up! And just in time for this weekend's Capitol Hill Block Party, which over two days features three stages and nearly fifty bands.

Considering this is Pride Weekend, you've got a bevy of options for live music in between bouts of sodomy, muff-diving, tina-using, and/or trips to Home Depot.

OPENING: The McLeod Residence, Seattle's premiere lounge/club/gallery, celebrates their grand opening this evening. So if you weren't invited on New Year's, now's your chance to check out the swank digs and the current exhibits.
