- It was just another case of the slow-going Mondays when a power line pole--and a live wire--came down early this morning after a garbage truck slammed into it. Power was shut down and Aurora Ave. was closed while crews cleaned up the busted pole strewn across the corner of Northeast 84th Street and Aurora Ave North.
- This weekend's street closures were for a just cause, as 2,513 dedicated people walked, jogged, and pedaled their way throughout Seattle in the LIVESTRONG Challenge, which raised over $1 million to fight cancer.

SINGER/SONGWRITER: It's been too long since we heard Molly Rose's dulcet vocals ring out in a local bar, but that's remedied tonight at the Tractor. It's a CD release show for her new album Clandestine, and she's appearing with the Nick Jaina Band and Pickwick. Molly puts just the right amount of poetry into her lyrics, conjuring up image fragments that wriggle like a worm on a catchy hook.

ENJOY THE HEAT: Coleman Pool, a public pool in West Seattle is an inexpensive way to enjoy the warm weather (finally!). Even if it's not sweltering, the heated salt water pool and the giant tube slide make for hours of healthy fun in the sun, as long as you don't forget to wear sunblock!

Mystery Ailment Sends Four Synchronized Swimmers to Hospital
Who knew synchronized swimming could be so dangerous? Four local synchronized swimmers were rushed to the hospital on Monday, after loosing consciousness and suffering respiratory distress at a Kenmore pool. Three of the girls, ages 12 to 14, had to be resuscitated on the pool deck. To add to what must have already been an incredibly chaotic scene, two parents who witnessed the event were also taken to the hospital after going into shock.
