We're reminded about two events the Canoe Social Club--"a newish space in the ID that seems to be picking up where McLeod Residence left off" (Seattle Weekly)--is putting on this weekend. At 10 p.m. tonight there's the Scratch 'n' Sniff Performers Buffet, "small/solo music acts and other similar stage antics," and tomorrow there's a fundraiser for the much-lauded New Century Theatre Company, also 10 p.m. That one features the Sarah Rudinoff/Gretta Harley musical collaboration We Are Golden. It's 21+ and $25, at the Theatre Off Jackson.

Today is a downright glorious day, so if you haven't started drinking already, head down to Solo for Seattlest happy hour! From 5-8 p.m., we'll be there taking advantage of Solo's all-day Monday happy hour, with $1 off all beers and wines, $2 Rainiers, $3 wells, $4 sangria, and $5 food. We'll also be raffling off prizes from Oberto, including jerky, t-shirts, and your very own steak brander. Get thee to Lower Queen Anne!
The third week of the month is rapidly approaching, and that means Seattlest Happy Hour! This month our merry band of travelling blogger vagabonds makes it all the way to the wilds of Lower Queen Anne. We're hitting up Solo, located at 200 Roy St (right by Seattle Center), for their all-day happy hour: $1 off all beers and wines, $2 Rainiers, $3 wells, $4 sangria, $5 vittles, and, we can only assume, $6 blowjobs. Join us from 5-8 p.m. for food, folks, and fun, as well as other outdated taglines.
Lower Queen Anne is dead to us. And we like Lower Queen Anne, we do: Many's the night we've whiled away down at Solo chatting up Kultur Shock's Val behind the bar, or closing out the Great Nabob with co-workers. But last night, it became clear that they no longer want us to visit. Because for reasons we don't quite understand, there is no longer any parking in Lower Queen Anne.
