While Seattle was having collective heart palpitations from seeing five inches of pure powder (and here we riff on Better Off Dead: "Do you know what the street value of our streets is?"), Spokane shattered records with 17 inches in 24 hours, and three more after that, for a total of 20 inches of snow. And what does the Spokesman-Review headline read? "Roads remain a challenge" We salute the residents of the Inland Empire.

How disappointing. Now the National Weather Service is saying the winter storm is shifting north and will bypass Seattle. OH, CANADA!!! However, they do say that "an inch or two of slushy snow is possible Friday night," which gives a lie to their promise that we won't see any "disruptive" snow. Pretty much any snow disrupts the hell out of Seattle traffic. Now we bait-and-switch you with this footage of last year's big snow:
