The American Institute of Architects asked 1800 Americans to name their favorite buildings in the US. After further refinement and surveying, the AIA compiled a list of the top 150 and released it on Wednesday.
Smith Tower Residence Exposed
Seattlest rode the open-faced and manned elevators up the Smith Tower to the Chinese Room on the 35th floor about a year ago. An ill-timed Americano made us have to take a piss up there which led us into the stairwell where the bathrooms are and also enabled us to discover a chain and across the stair leading up with a small sign that said something like "Private residence. Turn around, little Seattlest, and go take your piss before heading home to your Wallingford duplex." Which we did. That's the closest we ever got to seeing the legendary Smith Tower apartment.
Seattlest's Trivia Night Post-Mortem
About three hours before the quiz started at the Old Pequliar last night, we realized we'd written a really difficult slate of questions. Congrats to the winners, who earned their cash.
