The Seattle music scene is rife with musicians intermingling amongst bands as well as breaking off to perform solo as well. Shenandoah Davis is one of these incredibly talented artists taking part in several bands' shows, as a permanent fixture in Grand Hallway and a budding solo career. Everything she's involved in basically turns to aural gold. Being one of the very few talented accordion players in the city doesn't hurt her popularity either especially with the prominence of orchestral pop these days. more ›

We had been to a few rounds at Fremont Abbey, as we mentioned in the preview for the Columbia City Round, so walking in to CCT to find the chairs set up on the main floor and stage set up as usual was a little disappointing. But whatever disappointment we may have had was soon replaced with delight. more ›

Tonight will be another magical night of music at Columbia City Theater as The Round enchants Seattle art lovers yet again. The Round, which usually takes place at Fremont Abbey Arts Center, is a mixture of art and music that leaves you feeling enriched and wishing you could make an Etsy store of crafts of your own. There are Rounds now being held throughout the state as well as the country; one of which was held this last week at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin (Round #7 there) with Campfire OK and Noah Gundersen performing amongst others. This is the first Round being held at Columbia City Theater, but we're pretty sure it won't be the last. more ›

We thought it would be a pretty easy project to sort through the Bumbershoot bill for the top ten local acts. Holy cow, were we wrong! There is an unbelievable list of local bands that you would love. Unfortunately, that would be entirely too work for one weekend. Instead, we took on the monumental task of whittling it down to ten. Kim is shooting from the hip this weekend (papow!). The only solid plan is her friend's weekly L Word watching party on Sunday. Between now and then, she'll probably go see Shenandoah Davis at 2020 Cycle with Your Heart Breaks and KHV. Maybe there'll be a delicious meal culled from our local farmers markets.
