We've had a crush on Maria Cantwell for some time. First of all, her suits are always incredible. Her hair is always impeccably in place. She's kind of a badass when it comes to the environment and other important issues. We loved her even more when she came out in full support of Hillary. Even though that didn't work out so well, we admire her gumption for voting against last week's $700 billion bailout......

Unlike Kevin Henry, Congressman Brian Baird, of Washington's third district, has endorsed Barack Obama. He joins Congressman Adam Smith, Governor Gregoire, and Pearl Jam as state leaders on Obama's side. Hillary Clinton has the the support of Senator Murray, Senator Cantwell, Congresman Jay Inslee, and King County Executive Ron Sims.......

In 2000, hard core lefties who were fed up with the Democratic Party voiced their displeasure by voting for Ralph Nader-- and we all know how that turned out. In 2004, realizing what they were up against, they got behind the party and voted for their fears over their dreams. It should be interesting to see what they do this fall. Senator Cantwell has irked many lefties with her vote for the war in Iraq,......

-Senator Cantwell deftly parlays the Stevens/BP sucker punch and sends a heel in the direction of their chin by propsing to beef up oil transport safety in the Sound. -Tomorrow's judgement day for the Spokane mayor accused of using his office to futher his gayness. -The snowboarder who was lost overnight at Stevens Pass turned out to actually be lost on his friend's couch. An outstanding drunk driving warrent for his arrest was promptly served.......

Most politicians dream of holding a real position of power-- sure, city council is nice, but it isn't going to get you on 'Meet The Press.' However, Seattle Democrats who are looking to hold one of these positions may have a long wait. Consider, if you will, that the governor's office, both senate offices, and our congressional office are filled by healthy, scandal-free individuals. Without term limits these four may be there for a while.......
