American Idol Season 7 started last night, in case you've had your head in a hole this week. The first episode recounted the folks and freaks that turned out for auditions in Philadelphia, so we're not surprised that no one from Seattle showed up.

You know the concept: local artists create fiberglass scultpures based on Ur-piggy Rachel, eventually sold to raise money for the Pike Place Market Foundation. One such sculptor is Colin Reedy, an Oregon furniture designer whose previous contributions include a couple of ride-em "Pork Choppers." This particular creation, titled "Prosciutto and Melon Pig," ought to be positioned at a deli counter like DeLaurenti, not on the sidewalk in Belltown next to, gulp, the pork-free Tandoori Hut.

Monday, after posting our pro-lap dance response to Susan Paynter's PI column, we received an email from an anonymous local stripper:

Local boys Travis Snider (OF-Jackson High of Mill Creek) and Tim Lincecum (P-UW) were both drafted in the first round of June's MLB draft. Thought we'd check in.

-When you hear that an experimental plane has crashed you expect to hear that some kind of ninja plane from Boeing Field ditched into the ocean. This time it's a DIY job, though. We're guessing the flight itinerary didn't read "Garage, Chehalis Airport, trees, Harborview ICU," but that's unfortunately what happened.
