Are food safety and food tasty mutually exclusive goals? You have to ask after both Zesto's and Wild Ginger show up on the P-I's list of Seattle's dirtiest restaurants.

THEATER: 12 Minutes Max is experimental theater at On the Boards with each artist given 12 minutes or less to do their thing. The Stranger got us excited for the artists the Vis-a-Vis Society in this show, but according to the OtB website they're out sick tonight. It looks like there are still plenty of upstanding acts in good health, however.

Love was in the air last night as Seattlest presented Valentine’s Day themed trivia. A long standing crush was revealed, three couples proposed, and one relationship was consummated for nearly an hour.

ART: OKOK's move to Ballard has been good for them. The new space puts more focus on the art, separating it a bit from the (still great) retail. Free Parking, a new group drawing exhibit, opens today with works from ten artists.

Oh but do we have it in for the dailies today. The lead article in today's Seattle P-I describes the sorry state of our continent's vacated basketball arenas.

Back in 2002, the Crocodile had a perfect storm of a show, and not-yet-Seattlest was lucky enough to be in attendance for a bill whose lineup still gets followed to this day. The earnest indie rock of Mellowdrone, followed by the Brit-rock-with-tender-voices of both South and Elbow prompted Seattlest to spend more on merch at that show than has been spent since. As album release cycles go, they all still tend to hit Seattle on tour around the same time (Elbow two weeks ago, Mellowdrone soon), but it's doubtful that oh-so-perfect lineup will ever be replicated.

The Supersonics are hot. Prior to last nights victory against New Orleans, the Sonics beat the Houston Rockets in Houston, largely by shutting down superstar Tracy McGrady. But the Rockets' center Yao Ming scored 30 points and this highlights the Sonics biggest problem - the Sonics center-less.
