Redhook Brewery, the brand launched by Paul Shipman and Gordon Bowker more than 25 years ago, will become part of a corporate entity called Craft Brewers Alliance after it takes over Portland-based Widmer Brothers for a reported $50 million.

Seattlest feels the need to drown our sorrows, thanks in large part to the Dawgs' loss yesterday. Lucky for us the 3rd Annual Hops on Equinox - Spring Beer Festival is taking place today and tomorrow at he Fisher Pavilion on the Seattle Center campus (We'll excuse the fact that the Equinox actually took place five days ago). If you're a fan of the Fremont Oktoberfest, then you'll enjoy this event as well, as it's set up by the same folks.
