An old Rainier slogan held, "There's new vigor and strength in every drop." The Swap drivers and passengers will need every bit of this strength to get to Texas and back in 8 days. Even as we wish them the best of luck, we also want them to hurry back—we need a little more Lone Star in our lives.

Re:Take: Blackhawk Down
In our old shot, the Blackhawk Inn sports an attractive cursive "R" in the window. Is your mouth watering?
Craft Brewers Alliance? Gulp!
Aw geez. Another noble Seattle name goes into the toilet. Redhook Brewery, the brand launched by Paul Shipman and Gordon Bowker more than 25 years ago, will become part of a corporate entity called Craft Brewers Alliance after it takes over Portland-based Widmer Brothers for a reported $50 million.
Greet the Bubbleator Chair
Jetpack yourself over to MOHAI at 2 on Thursday to help celebrate the arrival of the Bubbleator Chair, rescued from a future at the dump (or private ownership) by some locals with dough. MOHAI has accepted the donation of the chair, and hopefully will restore it to its initial stainless-steel splendor by, perhaps, getting rid of the orange shag carpet upholstery.
Wonder Bread Is History
Wonder Bread plant in the Central District, a mere half mile away. We had seen the Wonder Bread sign from across the city, a beacon of nostalgia from when folks thought that bleaching food made it more nutritious. Turns out Interstate Bakeries vacated the warehouse over five years ago. Now the PI reports the block is being bulldozed for redevelopment and several groups in Seattle are requesting the sign be preserved, much like the Rainier Beer ‘R’ and the blue flame from Washington Natural Gas – both now on display at the Museum of History and Industry.
Let It Toe
It has been three years since the Lincoln Toe Truck last beckoned to I-5 exiters at Mercer Street. The land beneath the truck succumbed to condos, but the truck lives and through the generosity of the Lincoln family has been donated to MOHAI. There it will join other Seattle icons such as the Rainier Beer 'R' and Bobo the gorilla.
