The bars listed as targets in the letters are the Elite, Neighbours, Wild Rose, the Cuff, Purr, the Eagle, R Place, Re-bar, CC's, Madison Pub, and the Crescent. The Times reports that Dan Savage thinks it might be "an embittered gay person" rather than a religious fanatic, as the letter contains no religious language or references. Either way, it's an unimaginative, hateful move on Anonymous' part, and we hope they either 'fess up or are caught promptly and brought to justice. Slog has word that there may be an organized pub crawl around the Hill on Friday night to show support for the bars; meanwhile, bartenders are asking patrons to be careful and not to leave their drinks unattended.

Hazy Memories of Seattle Urban Golf
By now, you’ve most likely realized that Seattlest loves a little bit of the strange in our daily lives. Between all the off-beat circuses, live movies, and pillow fights, our entertainment tastes obviously run a little bit off center. It shouldn’t come as a surprise then that spending a day shooting nine holes of golf around Capitol Hill, in costume, at the bi-annual Seattle Urban Golf was right up our alley.

First of all, a couple of logistics. Just a reminder, the only events on Capitol Hill are at the clubs. There are no Pride shuttles, as there have been for certain events in past years. However, the number eight bus (down Denny, from Capitol Hill to Seattle Center) will be running more frequently all weekend.

CLASSIC FILM: The spaghetti western The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, starring Clint Eastwood, plays at SIFF Cinema. This classic film has the classic themes of crosses, double crosses, and treasure! Then go home and rent Unforgiven to see how Eastwood’s work has grown. Or not.
