Celebrate Ben Franklin's 300th birthday with the Bikini Bandits and Phillyist! (NSFW). Speaking of Mr. Franklin, send in a picture of Ben (or Ed Rendell) with a red tongue and win a free t-shirt. And they might have the next YearlyKos in Philly.

Art Brut Makes Us Want to Rock Out
While some members of Seattlest spent their Saturday night listening to a bunch of twee pussies, we were enjoying one of the punkest bands to emerge in many-a year (assuming the term "punk" still means something and/or can be used to describe an ethos). Art Brut put on one of the most entertaining shows we've seen in recent memory, thanks in large part to energetic, charismatic frontman Eddie Argos, who manages to be utterly charming even with his fly half-down. We want to be him, skeevy mustache and all, or at least buy him a drink or three.
Also Sinking (In)--The Hawks Victory
What can you say about the Seahawks yesterday? They dominated the Panthers on offense and defense. They held Steve Smith to 33 yards receiving and a disputed return touchdown. They didn't turn the ball over and they took the ball four times. All in all, their 34-14 win was the best performance by a local team in a big game since, well, since the Huskies' 34-14 win over Michigan in the 1992 Rose Bowl. 34-14 is now our favorite football score.
Go! Team Wuz Good!
With their blend of schoolyard chants, '70s TV themes, and old school hip-hop, the Go! Team creates music made for summer. And since summer finally seems to be upon us, last night was the perfect time for the band, recently signed to Columbia, to play a sold-out show at Neumo's. Seattlest is happy to report that the U.K. multi-culti girl-boy indie collective lived up to our lofty expectations, as well as their own exclamation point. After their explosive performance at Intonation (can Pitchfork stop talking about it now, please?) and in their second Seattle show in as many days (they were the surprise guest at the KEXP barbeque on Sunday), the Go! Team certainly brought the rock. But before that we'd have to sit through three opening acts.
