They're light, they're fluffy and they're free. IHOP [Seattle locations] is giving away short stacks today. There was hardly a wait at all at the Aurora location, friendly service, and if you need another reason to have pancakes for lunch: there's that scoop of whipped butter they're hoping you'll donate to help fund local children's hospitals.

One pancake house goeth, and another strip club cometh; but Aurora's tackiness abideth forever. Looks like Bob Davis, the guy who's plunking down cash for Cyndy's Pancake House, will be turning the into a kitchen-equipped strip club come spring. Seattlest knows not a few rappers who will be very happy at the prospect of food plus sexy naked ladies, that's for sure. Mmmm, bacon and boobs! Two of life's greatest pleasures, right? It seems that before Thanksgiving is even over, we are encouraged to panic over the fate of our leftovers. This seems strange, as we’ve always found it remarkably easy to get rid of leftovers by refusing exit to any guest without a plateful. Barring that, there’s always turkey curry salad. Still, there are a couple of Thanksgiving purchases that cannot so easily be passed off or reused; among them is pumpkin purée.

Despite early afternoon plans to consume diabetes-defying amounts of truffles and other treats at the Seattle Luxury Chocolate Salon (resulting in a complete chocolate coma), Seattlest remained committed to the weekly "Dishin'" review and reported to Boat Street Café for brunch yesterday.

ARTISTS X-ING, WITH CAMERAS: A motley crew of photographers are gathering down at the Market tonight to explore the area through their camera lenses for the evening. They're meeting at that brass pig by the fish throwers (could this event get any more Seattle?) and will be snapping photos around the Market, downtown, Pioneer Square, the waterfront, and more. It's open to anyone who wants to join in the spirit of discovery and photography.
