OPEN MIC NIGHT: It's been a while since Seattlest has gone out to Ballard for the Scratching Post Open Mic at Mr. Spot's Chaihouse, but it was always a nice, even blend of really talented folks singing and reading (and, of course, the usual occasional acts that make you wonder why you torture yourself at an open mic if you're not performing). Plus, it's free, they have beer and wine, and the best chai in town, that side of Traveler's.

FREE BUSH: Get your mind out of the gutter. We're talking about Gavin Rossdale. He's in town today to put on a free show at everyone's favorite new venue Showbox SODO. Get there early, because we imagine there'll be a line for blocks to get into this thing. We hope he does some solo acoustic versions of all the Bush classics.

'70S NOSTALGIA: Called "the perfect musical antiheroes for the Seventies” by the Rolling Stones, the not oft-toured band, Steely Dan, makes an appearance at the Chateau Ste. Michelle out in Woodinville. Drive out to the beautiful winery, have a glass, and remember the days in which people stood in line at the gas stations and screamed at each other, rather than simply paying through the nose for a full tank.
