Seattlest keeps waiting and waiting for the right weekend to head out for our inaugural hike of 2008. There are few things we love more than hiking through the cool misty forests of Cedars and Doug Firs; the monotony of one-foot-in-front-of-the-other up a mountain brings us a zen calm. After driving through the mountains for Memorial Day weekend, we were feeling especially itchy to head out on the trail. But we are going to......

"Vanguard of an Invading Army" by sea turtle We don't usually go for the silly photoshop pix, but this one from the Seattlest Flickr Pool was just too great to pass up.......

There's nothing like the prospect of a smart hip-hop show to build up our anticipation on a Saturday night. One where we know that the act we're going to see can't fail to deliver, cranks that up a little higher than we can generally handle when we're forced to first stop by a friend's party before the show. To all those in Shoreline that we bored with excited chatter about Lyrics Born and Blackalicious......

Hot damn, it’s nice out there. Seattlest just got back to the office after a long-but-too-short lunch break. There we were, reading a book in the sun down at the waterfront park, near the Aquarium – lifting our head every so often to peer out at the ferries making their way in and out of Elliott Bay. And the Olympic Mountains, of course, reminding us that it’s just about time to dust off our......

After listening to the various radio stations this morning, here's the scoop: There's at least some ice on all the roads, even Interstate 5. Many access roads are icy and clogged with abandoned cars from last night and this morning. NE 145th St is closed between 20th NE and Lake City Way (there's a considerable acclivity there, apparently it got too icy to drive). The Olympic Mountains look absolutely beautiful. As usual, the problem isn't......

Sometimes we feel that we are taking our home town for granted. We probably focus on the lousy weather, the passive aggressive nature of the people, the ineffective local government, and the selfish NIMBYs who ruin everything. However, on Sunday as we were driving north on the viaduct we glanced over to see the Olympic Mountains in all of their snow covered glory, and we were reminded that there are few places we would rather......

We love Husky football, even when the team is in the midst a "victory deficient stage," we still get excited for games against Top 20 teams. Which is why we are clearing our schedule to watch the purple and gold get absolutely stomped in Norman tomorrow when they face the number 10 ranked Oklahoma Sooners. The game will be a rematch of the 1985 Orange Bowl in which the Huskies and the Sooner Schooner beat......

We feel llike there's been just about enough comment in town on snow, the chance of snow, the lack of snow, snow where you came from, snow removal, snow traffic, chains, tires, boards, forecasts, mobiles, makers, shovels, problems, etc. And we haven't seen any snow in Seattle today. Maybe some rain with tracer fire. Howerver, if you are all wrapped up in precipitation than you should take note of a few things: Seattle weather forecasting......

Seattlest may not be convinced that there's any good reason to leave our fair city -- but at least we can rest assured that we've got a modern and easy-to-use airport to assist us in our travels when necessary....

Seattlest, and all the other -ist sites, tend to embrace metropolitan living. The goings-on, trends, and fast pace keep life entertaining, interesting, and almost always on the go. Fortunately for Seattleites, when your fledgling software employer has you working 70-hour work weeks for the fifth year in a row, or you have had it with yet another traffic jam on 520, or you visit Fremont and let out a heavy sigh at the realization that......
