The New York Post had a bit of fun with the kerfuffle, hiring a Jessica Simpson impersonator to roam around the stadium during the game. Their impersonator was Lynsey Nordstrom, who they identify as a "beautiful 21-year-old nanny from Bothell." Anyone know this girl? Is she related to the department store Nordstroms?

Happy New Year! We were only a few minutes into it when the first Seattle gun violence of 2007 happened at Skyway Park Bowl and Casino (which is actually in Renton, but whatever). A pregnant woman, a woman and a man were all shot just minutes after midnight at the bowling alley and taken to Harborview. The P-I doesn't list a motive.

The man who shot Nicole duFresne on New York's Lower East Side was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole this week. Nicole made a name for herself in Seattle's theatre community before doing what promising artists tend to do when they feel they've outgrown Seattle. She moved to New York. There she worked as an actress and a waitress until one night she, along with her finace and some friends, came in contact with Rudy Flemming and some of his friends who were seething after a few failed muggings. Nicole challenged Flemming by saying, "What are you going to do, shoot us?" She died at the scene in the arms of her fiance Jeffery Sparks.

Sonics forward Danny Fortson yesterday blamed Suns' owner Jerry Colangelo, New York Post writer Peter Vescey, and the advancing age of NBA referees for his increasing uselessness as a basketball player.

This baseball offseason, rumors have abounded that the Mariners' best player, Ichiro, is unhappy about the teams' losing ways (who isn't?) The New York Post even reported that he may want to be traded.

A 14-year-old girl and an alleged 19-year-old man, Rudy Fleming, have been charged with murder in the shooting death of Seattle actress, Nicole duFresne.

NYPD has charged five teenagers in connection with the murder of Nicole duFresne on the Lower East Side. A murder weapon has apparently been recovered as well, although police are still looking for two females they believe to be connected to the case.
