This morning we were glancing through the Going Out section of the Seattle P-I when we ran across these two questionable entries:

"War and Peace": 1 p.m. Sergei Bondarchuk's adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's novel (part one screens today) is widely considered to be one of Russia's greatest achievements. Right up there with Ivan Drago and those wooden dolls that open up to reveal a bunch of smaller wooden dolls. "As You Like It": 7:30 p.m. This Shakespeare comedy of mistaken identities, clowns and women dressed as men dressed as women gives further credence to the theory that the Wayans brothers are descendents of the Bard. Guns, booze, dames, and private eyes: The SIFF Cinema Summer Series (say that five times fast) kicks off tonight with their first annual Seattle Noir City Festival. Noir City's been taking place in San Francisco for five years now, and this is the first time it's made its way to the seamy underbelly of the Northwest. more ›

ART: Fremont celebrates First Friday with their monthly art walk, while the McLeod Residence hosts the opening of their new photography/painting exhibit on Seattle "celebrities." more ›

STORIES: Matt "Defective Yeti" Baldwin, one of the 12 funniest people on the Internet, appears with Sean O'Connor at a special A Guide to Visitors event. It's being filmed for the Seattle Channel, it's free, and the organizers point out that the Skylark serves "Tater Tots and mozzarella sticks." more ›

It looks like the Seattle International Film Festival is going to pull back a bit from its traditional venues around town and get its very own digs at the Seattle Center.
