Have you recovered from your election night hangover? Good! Because there's plenty to do.
Can't Miss It: Wednesday
Seattle Public Library Celebrates National Library Week
Let you library love shine as today kicks off the beginning of National Library Week. So if you haven't been to the library in awhile to pay your respects, this week is the perfect--if not best--time to do just that. And who knows, maybe your favorite librarian will be in such a good mood they'll waive those late fees for you. Maybe.
Neil Gaiman, Telling Tales
It's time for Seattlest to ask a couple of absurd questions about Neil Gaiman. For instance, if Mr. Gaiman were to swoop from the sky and attack you- like a bird of prey- what sort of predatory bird would he be?
A Bid for Immortality
Well, literary immortality, anyway. A gaggle of authors (some Seattlest-approved, some not-so-approved)- including Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Dave Eggers, John Grisham, Lemony Snicket, Michael Chabon, and Jonathan Lethem- will be auctioning the chance to have the winning bidder's name included in their next work. Clearly, a win would be somewhat conditional- if you want to use a friend's name, you have to get permission, for instance- but they seem pretty accommodating. That said, if your name is Amanda Huggnkiss or Mike Hunt, you had probably better skip this one.
