It's cool that Drew Carey has been the face of the new Seattle MLS team, appearing at the G&D and showing up in the booth for Monday Night Football to talk about the team's plans in Seattle, but he's kind of a Cleveland guy. Couldn't we get a Seattle name that's about on par with Carey? Like....oh god there is no Seattle name on par with Drew Carey. Long live Seattle guy Drew Carey!

Tonight, the nation's hardcore gamblers' eyes will be on Seattle as our fair burgh hosts Monday Night Football.

This fall we are combining our love of the football and our dream of learning to cook. On Sunday morning, following a trip to a local farmer's market/major supermarket chain, we will be preparing a meal from the city of the Seahawks opponent. Sports: Depending on your particular personality profile, Monday Night Football is either something hideous to run away from as fast as you can through the snow-clogged streets or something to celebrate with giant fleece Seahawks blankets and flasks disguised as binoculars. Or you're from Wisconsin and you're celebrating and running away at the same time. Tickets for tonight's game can be had by rolling the dice outside the stadium just before kickoff or by getting down with Craigslist, but you might be better off cozying up to your favorite neighborhood bar for the game.

- Tonight: Seahawks vs. Packers, 5:30 pm on ESPN and Channel 11.

The -ists this week had politics on the brain. And what goes better with politics? Partying-- that's two great tastes in one. Oh, and Kevin Federline...can't forget about Kevin Federline. That's three great tastes in one.

--We know the Weekly is cutting its editorial staff, but this is ridiculous.

Remember last week when it was sunny and crystal clear outside? The skies were blue, and we could make out mountain trails on the Cascades. In the evening when the sun set behind the Olympics and Mt. Rainer was glowing in the pink light, we wondered if there was a more beautiful place to live.

I don't know...how boring is Seahawks training camp?
