Some sharp local kids one-up their lemonade-stand-having peers with some farm-fresh goods. Meanwhile, a local hate crime, one life ending while another one nearly begins on the West Seattle Bridge, some new features at Camp Long, and the return of the guy who allegedly stuck his face in joggers' butts. Plus, coming up: the Mobile Chowdown, Psalm One, and bridge closures.

Can't Miss It: The Weekend
Sate a full range of artistic hungers this weekend with a live revival in the Owl N' Thistle, a born storyteller in his natural environment, a family-friendly rave in a public park, and a smorgasbord of travelling specialty kitchens. All this weekend and all for free (except what you buy yourself, of course.)
The Original Mobile Chowdown Takes it on the Road Again Next Month
When the first Seattle Mobile Chowdown launched in Interbay several years back, it seemed like a pretty novel conceptespecially since back then, there were only a few trucks in the area. But since its inception, food trucks have become everyone's new boom, leading to bigger and better Chowdowns than ever before.
Welcome to the Weekend Feeding Frenzy
Looking for food this weekend to supplement that World Cup drinking? We have a few suggestions.
Mobile Chowdown returns on Saturday (it's the fourth installment), this time parked in the shadow of the Space Needle at Center Square (formerly the Fun Forest) in the Seattle Center. Look for lots of trucks from both Seattle and Portland. This Seattlest writer covered the last Chowdown for Serious Eats, and recommends that you do a taste-test between Koi Fusion and Marination Mobile, a potato playoff between Potato Champion and Skillet Street Food, and finish with a dessert duel between Anita's Crepes and Whiffies (whose fried pies we enjoyed on a recent trip to Portland). The trucks will be there from 11 to 3, but expect long lines if you're not there at the opening.
In Focus: Mobile Chowdown III
It's simple: Seattle vs. Portland in a mobile foodie showdown on the streets of Sodo!
Mobile Chowdown 3: This Time It's Regional
But we're catching up: Seattle's food cart scene is stronger than ever before. The food is better, the carts are more numerous, the locations more convenient. Our own Marination Mobile won Good Morning America's Best Food Cart Challenge. This weekend, if you can brave the crowds, you'll have a chance to find out for yourself who's got the finest cart-based food.
One of These is Not a Food Truck
It was Mobile madhouse once again, a bit saner than the first Chowdown clusterfeed three months ago (more seating, more toilets, Top Pot donuts) but still a sad commentary on the American diet: 20,000 Seattle mouths navigating to an Interbay parking lot to get stuffed with street food.
We Have Good News, We Have Bad News
A bouncer and a homeless dude dueled using a boxcutter and a wooden sword outside a Seattle club.
Dishin': The Mobile Chowdown
Dishin' is typically about a single dish, but this week we give you a heads-up about an upcoming confluence of dishes.
