Monday @ Bumbershoot: The Music Alternative Edition
As we were saying, there's a lot more at Bumbershoot besides the music. You've got the comedy, the literature, the theatre, the dance -- and the people-watching, the sideshows, the side sideshows: yesterday we ran into Craig and Victoria doing a violin-and-flamenco act behind a tent; they say they'll be back today, roaming around, so look for a swirl of red.
Speaking Tour: 4/16 - 4/22
CALL 911! CALL 911!: Political and economic commentator and White House strategist during the Nixon administration, Kevin Phillips talks about his book, American Theocracy: The Peril and Politics of Radical Religion, Oil, and Borrowed Money in the 21st Century. Phillips traces the set of related causes that caused the downfall of historical world powers. That same combination of ills he says -- global over-reach, militant religion, resource problems, and ballooning debt -- is at work in the U.S. today.

THEATER: 12 Minutes Max is experimental theater at On the Boards with each artist given 12 minutes or less to do their thing. The Stranger got us excited for the artists the Vis-a-Vis Society in this show, but according to the OtB website they're out sick tonight. It looks like there are still plenty of upstanding acts in good health, however.
