Seattlest--very much not a design geek--loved last week's match between designers Naz Hamid and Chris Glass. It works like this: One designer creates an image in fifteen minutes. His opponent then has fifteen minutes of his own to edit/riff on/respond to that image. They go back and forth for ten rounds, all while the peanut gallery (that's you) and a designated commentator judge the results.

This past Sunday, Seattlest was in a mountain bike race up in Bellingham (we came in 4th, and two of our teammates ended up on the podium for their groups, huzzah!). We also set up a booth for our team's sponsor LUNA, and we have to cart all kinds of goodies and tents and whatnot around, so they give us huge blue tupperware-like containers for all our stuff. As we were setting up in the morning, my teammate noticed a ridiculously funny infographic on the inside of one of the lids, a concise marvel of information design that clearly indicated: Do Not Put Your Baby In Here.

Local blogger Matthew Baldwin has a post up about his young son and autistic spectrum disorder. There's not really anything that Seattlest can say about this besides encouraging you to go read it if you haven't. This is the internets at their finest.
The radio, as a communications tool, still shares more with the internet than it does with, say, cave drawings, but you have to admit it is getting up there in years. Nothing rolls back the clock like spending some quality time with the kids, though. Witness NPR checking in on the local internets tonight.
Matthew Baldwin went out for a run recently on what appears to be a fantastic spring day and brought along a friend and a camera. Oh, and since he's Matthew Baldwin he also packed his sense of humor (as seen on your favorite web sites like www.defectiveyet.com and www.themorningnews.org). The result is the "A Run Around Lake Union" photo series.
Seattle blogger Defective Yeti is pretty funny. Very funny. Hilarious, actually, and we're not going out on a limb saying that because a panel of judges apparently thinks so as well. It goes without saying that Defective Yeti is much funnier than Seattlest. (To date no panels of judges have even hinted at any humor existing at Seattlest.com.)
