Just the other day we were tut-tutting Bainbridge for their Bella Unionizing (gratuitous Deadwood reference). Now we read in the pixelized P-I that an Eastlake massage business and alleged brothel, the Sacred Temple, was raided by the po-po yesterday. (So was the Moon Temple at the 10000 block of Greenwood Avenue North.) The Sacred Temple's hilarious About Us page [Google cache] says: "Our work is sensual in nature, often intimate, and the intent is to honor and restore every part of the body, from the bottom of your feet to the tips of your fingers and the top of your head. We ask that you please refrain from discussing any sexual activities over the phone or in your emails to us."

A Thai woman hired to massage an Issaquah nursing home resident smuggled him out of the facility during his lunch hour, married him, and then took him to his bank to pick up the man's savings. There is absolutely nothing sketchy going on here, she says, and she's in love, though the 78-year-old man doesn't remember marrying her. Riiiiight. Love to the tune of early retirement and $23,000 in cash, maybe. The unlicensed masseuse (we'll save the respectful 'massage therapist' nomenclature for bodyworkers who at least own an ethical compass) has been charged with three felonies but refuses to sign annulment papers. We'd like to see her charged for operating without a license, too, which is unquestionably wrong on her part and not even up for debate.

Is Seattle going chocolate crazy? Theo Chocolate is doing chocolate massages, meditations and barbeques. Joule is dipping chicken liver in dark chocolate. There’s even a store called Chocolopolis.

Ahh, Aurora: what a beautiful name for Seattle's often-ugly, often-sketchy throughway! Why does it not surprise us to hear that an Aurora "tanning salon," located in the Oak Tree cluster, got busted this weekend for fronting a prostitution service? So, so tacky.
