This year in Sound magazine turned City Arts, "Dish-Off" challenged chefs at 28 restaurants to create dishes based on songs with food ingredients in the title. The outcomes were interesting, from Olivar's Weezer-inspired pork and beans, to Il Fornaio's white chocolate space eggs--with the Liz Phair song playing in the background.

Lunch at ART: In Excellent Taste
It's been almost a year since Kerry Sear closed Cascadia and returned to the hand-laundered and crisply-folded fold of the upscale Four Seasons hotel chain, taking along his patented miniburgers and a majority of the staff (notably chef de cuisine James Dimeling). The burgers are on the bar menu at ART, the hotel's restaurant, 3 for $5 between 5 and 7, $3 apiece from 2 to midnight, but the delightful miniburgers.com website is no more.

$100 Culinary Tours
To see Seattle's culinary scene up close, just like the locals do, get thy butt over to the Gray Line tour desk! Aunt Minnie from Moline can spend a summer afternoon watching a real live chef!
Shaken or Stirred
Cascadia's new cocktail menu (now that we've dispensed with Big City interlopers) includes a classic called Satan's Whiskers, a combination of gin (high-end Plymouth, ideally), sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, orange juice, Grand Marnier and (very important) orange bitters. All ingredients we're very fond of, so let's go for it.
Lucky 070707 in Burgundy
According to the rental car's dashboard digits, it's 11:11 on 07 07 07, the temperature is 22.2 degrees and we've driven 333.3 kilometers since leaving Paris. What does it all mean? That would be the coincidence of crossing paths with Seattle chef Kerry Sear at the bustling Saturday market in Beaune, of all places.
Giada & Pietro Rabbit
Blizzard of food notes. First, tonight at 9 PM on Food Network, with three repeats, Giada De Laurentiis visits Seattle for a food-lover's weekend. Kerry Sear at Cascadia reveals, among other things, his recipe for Alpine Martinis.
Stalk of the Town
Fresh from his quarter-hour of fame as a food blogger, Ronald is preparing a giant Spanish torta for a neighborhood party in Belltown. He plans to stalk chef Kerry Sear's cooking class at Cascadia on Saturday morning. On Sunday, he'll make is way into SoDo territory where wine writer/wine merchant Rich Kinssies promises to roast a pig and pour samples of Spanish reds at The Wine Outlet . We hope it goes well with the all the uneaten torta.
