Yesterday, KCPQ's News Director Steve Kraycik resigned after a pretty bad week in the national spotlight. In mid-April Kraycik and his team were presented with a freelance photographer’s video of Seattle Police Officers kicking a suspect in the head and shouting racial epithets. They chose not to air the tape immediately, noting that “we felt it was important to learn as much as possible about the circumstances surrounding the incident captured on the video before we aired it.” Rival KIRO didn’t seem to have so much trouble sorting through the nuance of a police brutality video, and aired it last Thursday, setting off a media firestorm. more ›
