Dragonslayer Raises 40k for NW Sarcoma Foundation!

Over 600 people gathered at Green Lake Park Saturday for the Seattle Dragonslayer event. Seattle Seahawk Justin Forsett and alumnus Kerry Justin signed autographs and greeted fans before joining sarcoma patients and survivors at the starting line. Benefitting the NW Sarcoma Foundation, the event kicked off with an inspirational speech by Founder Earnest “Chappie” Conrad. Teams like “Jeff’s Warriors” and “The Sarcoma Sole Sisters” ran, walked, biked and bladed around the lake to help raise awareness for the cause. The top earners, Team “Pretty in Pink” collected over $10,000 in honor of Chelsey Rae Ebert who lost her battle with Osteo-Sarcoma in 2007. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of all participants, over $40,000 were raised for the NW Sarcoma Foundation. These funds will go directly towards sarcoma research and advocacy efforts to help find a cure. more ›

Hawks Lay Egg in S.D. 18-17

The Seattle Seahawks lost 18-17 tonight to the San Diego Chargers in their third game of the pre-season. The Hawks started fast with Charlie Frye connecting with Nate Burleson for a 68-yard TD pass, giving them an early 7-0 lead. The Hawks led late into the fourth quarter, when former Husky DB Omare Lowe was flagged for interference on a questionable call in the end zone, putting the ball on the one-yard line. The Chargers went into the end zone three plays later and then made the two-point conversion to take the lead for good. QB Charlie Frye left the game after a late hit in the fourth quarter. T.J. Duckett had a solid game at RB, while Justin Forsett struggled in the race for the final roster spot at that position. more ›
