On Monday Bumbershoot was a smoldering guyville. And we have the photos to prove it. Who knows why the festival was so testosterone heavy, but if boys were your thing, you had a grab bag to choose from.

Tonight, head out to an event that will keep your finger on the pulse of the Seattle music scene. Seattle’s very hidden and very trendy Sole Repair Shop hosts six local artists: The Half Brothers, birds may bite, Gretta Harley, Johntana (featuring John Osebold of the indie-prog band “Awesome”), Trent Hill and Misty Weaver. It’s also the CD release party for Misty Weaver’s “Lost Saints for Long Roads,” and includes a cakewalk (win non-edible CD’s) and a raffle that advertises, “win cool things.” Cool things? We’re there.
Local Singer/Songwriter Joanna Horowitz got a crazy idea a year or so ago. A long-time musician involved in the theater business, she thought it might be fun to write a musical. Enter 100 Heartbreaks...

When you become as popular on the local music scene as "Awesome", it’s good to give back to the community, and do a little something for the kids. Hence Here's What Happened, which the band describes as a children’s show with an adult brain.
John Osebold has been a fixture within Seattle’s fringe community since coming out of the University Of Washington’s School of Drama ten years ago. His many acting/ writing/ singing/ performing/ composing/ directing projects include Player King’s ‘Ballyhoo,’ the sketch comedy group ‘The Habit,’ and he is currently a member of the band “Awesome”, who released their first album, ‘Deleware,’ last fall. His latest project symphony finishes it’s run tonight (10pm) and tomorrow (8pm) at Trinity Parish Church on First Hill.
Besides raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, these were a few of our favorite things, at least in terms of live music during the past year.
