">Throughout the campaign we have been gathering the top political writers in the country, and asking them to discuss the presidential race. Today they discuss the end of the Democratic primary, Senator Clinton's future, and a brief look at the general. Seattlest: It's been a very eventful week, with Senator Obama wrapping up the nomination and Senator Clinton set to end her campaign, where do you see the race going now? Ryan (Time Magazine): Finally.......

This Seattlest will be heading to a private party tonight, where we will celebrate among our favorite people the fact that Super Tuesday is FINALLY here. But, if you're looking for somewhere more out-on-the-town to get your drink on and watch the returns trickle in, and pancakes aren't your bag, here's the guide for you. Most of these events start at 5pm, and they're all free. Go America! The Paragon is hosting an indie......

We've already heard what the fellas in the house think about the election. Now it's the ladies' turn. Kim: I tried for about five minutes after Iowa to convince myself I could and would get behind an Obama candidacy. I will vote for whomever earns the Democratic nomination, but I just honestly don’t get what the big deal is about Obama. I’ve been a Hillary gal from the beginning, and that hasn’t changed. The......

The oddest thing about watching last night's Iowa caucus coverage along with the Sonics game is that we had one TV tuned to TNT, and one TV tuned to CNN--and Chuck Norris was on the latter one. Yes, the man who reportedly counted to infinity...twice--was standing behind Mike Huckabee with his (Norris's) ex-model wife. Huckabee's own wife, who if not model material is hardly repulsive, did not appear in your picture as Huckabee spoke about......

No. But that doesn't make this factoid from a political campaign article in today's P-I any less disturbing: "If it's OK to notify a political campaign about this guy, what about the neighbors he lived near for months?" said Ed Troyer, a spokesman for the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, pointing out that [Mitt] Romney's aides were warned about [Daniel Thomas] Tavares's presence here during the candidate's recent campaign swing through Seattle, though Troyer's own office......

When you're seen as the number-two city and number-two university in the state you can either embrace it or try and avoid the notion. Washington State University and Spokane had a chance to host next year's Vice-Presidential debate, and passed, deciding to hold out for one of the Presidential Debates, a gamble that didn't pay off. We're not sure if their loss is such a big deal. There's little mention of the location of a......

It was a week of bizarre, embarassing headlines at DCist. The trial of the local administrative law judge who sued his cleaners for $54 million over a pair of missing pants left everyone shaking their heads. Then the capital city was nearly brought to its knees, twice, by poop. Finally D.C. contemplated taking Vermont's place as a state and marveled at the GOP lessons learned from the "Macaca Moment." Due to some sad shootings......

The presidential election is still over a year and a half away, and we already have our favorite bit of analysis: "People think of [Rudy Giuliani] as a leader and a tough guy, and he has this image as somebody who tamed the city of New York and made the trains run on time, and seeing him dressed up like a girl would run contrary to all of those things," said Neal Thigpen, a political-science......

Wednesday, November 29 >>>Third Place Books, 7:00pm. Another weighty tome, Unreleased Beatles by Richie Unterberger, to add to your Beatles-only reference section. It details the shitload of stuff that was recorded but, you know, forgotten about what with being so high at the time, plus the whole headtrip with Yoko. Free with OCD collecting disorder. >>>University Bookstore, 7:00pm. Elizabeth George backtracks: in her last Inspector Lynley mystery, the Inspector's wife was killed. In What......

While the mainstream media are easily diverted by the smoke screen for John Kerry's Seattle visit, Seattlest has no interest in barking up the National Conference of State Legislators tree. We happen to know that Kerry came to town on the usual tourists' quest for some fresh, tasty fish. We hear he dined at St. Cloud's in Madrona last night, and had the halibut. According to the menu: Sake Poached Market Fish with Pickled Ginger......
