Stalk of the Town
It's Mother's Day weekend. Some people say we should remember our mothers all year-round, not just on a single day. But we do! With yo momma jokes! Seattlest contributors share their favorites, along with their plans for enforced family togetherness.
The Egyptian Knows What You're Really Afraid Of
Seattle's blogs are savoring the pulse-pounding, cold-sweat anticipation of this weekend's midnight showings of Jaws at the Egyptian.
Under Da Sea
Get your science on today and tomorrow with a live videocast of UW's exploration of the area's submerged volcanos. Seattlest is partial to Manuel and his Lake Washington dive exploits (now with video!), but we think we're going to tune in to one of these feeds for awhile as well. If there is ever a Puget Sound tsunami the chances of it originating at the Juan de Fuca Ridge where these oceanographers (see image right - HOT!) will be filming are pretty good. The chances of you catching Willatuk, Jaws, a giant squid, merpeople or any other such deep sea abnormailty on screen during the broadcast are probably pretty remote, however. We're sure we don't have to tell you that.
