Tonight, drink pricey beers at the WaMu Theater (hey, they need the money!) before The Kills and The Raconteurs. You best get there early; believe us, it takes a lotta beers to make Jack White look pretty, but no drinks at all to make him sound good.

Pearl Jam’s singer and most frequent songwriter will be releasing a solo album bunch of songs later this year. Without the four guys who, surrounding him, comprise the one band that survived the grunge explosion/implosion and still rocks today. It seems he and Sean Penn think so much alike (politically? Madonna-ly?) that Vedder recorded a near-recordful of songs for Penn’s latest directorial effort, Into the Wild. (Eddie contributed to previous Penn projects I Am Sam and Dead Man Walking.) Jack White and The Raconteurs brought their anecdotal "A" game to a sold out Moore Theatre Thursday night. The crowd was remarkably less shiny than our original assessment (we were waiting for the lone drunk "Bic lighter" lady in front of us to actually light her hair on fire); but we still love our Rock shows at The Moore. Jack White and Brendan Benson had great on-stage chemistry – whipping their inaugural Seattle audience into a head-bopping, fist clenching frenzy. The whole "Retro Rock" thing really works, switching from Loud/Soft to Electric/Acoustic. A little for everyone - and we really dig them...

After kicking our collective asses for four consecutive days, the heat is finally backing down. So pull yourself together. Go outside again -- especially to Capitol Hill this weekend.
