Taking a break from trying to surf the flaccid waters at Westport on Saturday, a team of Seattlest agents mingled around the parking lot where they met a man from Bellevue who was the victim of a random dog attack last week. The veteran surfer peeled back his bandage to show the teeth marks from the doberman yellow lab who chomped on his arm. Apparently our victim was minding his own business riding his bike......

Apparently its that time of year again, since at least one Seattlest contributor witnessed a few crow attacks on civilians in the past week, including an attack on his own feeble, defenseless person by a pair of crows on the north side of Freeway Park earlier this week. They swooped down from behind at his head, squawking, and followed him halfway through the park. Upon exiting the south side on Seneca he observed a different......

Between fake terrorist alerts and scandals big and small, this just might be the Best Best of the -ists ever. We're exhausted just thinking about it. First up, SFist, who saw their little 'ole site be the center of what was a nice little scandal (even getting their editor on TV) only to find their scandal dwarfed by the even bigger scandal caused by their Mayor boffing one of his aides' wife. And then you end up with a grumpy crowd on your hands who have just been given an unexpected extra hour to drink. No one wants that. Such was the scene......

If you're in the mood for some dark futuristic neo-noir this weekend, consider yourself lucky. Two films showing in town---one old, one new---more than fit the bill. Tomorrow the Sci-Fi Museum is closing out the Sci-Fi Film Festival with Dark City, the 1998 stylish thriller from Alex Proyas, who has directed other similarly themed films, both well-made (The Crow) and not so much (I, Robot). This one features Rufus Sewell as John Murdoch, a man......

The University of Washington is facing opposition to its proposed biodefense laboratory from neighborhood residents. The biolab would be classified as "level-three," meaning it would be able to handle lethal, infectious diseases that can be treated but not cured. From the Seattle Times: "You're talking about putting a high-security facility in an environment that is low security with waterfront access," said Eric Larson from the Roosevelt Neighbors' Alliance. "I would also point out this campus......
