Last night was our first live encounter with Ohio's Over the Rhine, and the Triple Door turned out to be the perfect venue for the neo-cabaret sound of their new album The Trumpet Child (which they're streaming on their site). Tonight's show is sold out, but they're doing SRO sales at the window. The Triple Door website will tell you the show's at 8pm, but we showed up at 7:45pm last night and got sat during opener Griffin House's set.

Tuesday night's Scissor Sisters show was an absolutely incredible sight to behold. The Showbox didn't feel like part of Seattle at all, transformed into den of debauchery, glamorous but with slightly sleazy undertone. The sort of place to feature both marble floors and gloryholes. It was the holistic experience that most shows strive to be, with a charismatic headliner, amazing sound, and a crowd as flamboyant and energetic as the performers on stage.

It was a big day for Billie Burke Estate. The band's lead singer/keyboard player (and only member) Andy Liotta spent the afternoon at The Mountain talking up the release of his new album and trying to persuade listeners to come out to the Tractor to check him out live.

Lately it seems that Seattlest has had our collective mind in the gutter. What we can say? We're a depraved bunch.
