• Vintage Seattle continued their fabulous series on the building of The Space Needle. Ever since VS started posting this series, we've been looking at the Needle with new eyes and appreciation.
• Mark our words, Cooper the Cat is about to be Seattle's next big star, but you can already track this local feline celebrity on Flickr and various local blogs.
• Thieves really are getting ballsier by the day, it seems. West Seattle Blog reports a classic Airstream Trailer was stolen off its double-locked parking pad this weekend on the west side.

The e-mails were flying fast and furious late this morning at the virtual Seattlest HQ about the new Dick's fries, which made us start thinking about lunch, naturally. Although our stomach is strong and we can put just about anything in it without losing it later on, we tend to stay away from Dick's simply because we always feel like we need a shower afterwards. After a night of heavy drinking, their fries are welcome, but in the middle of a workday? Not so much.

We weren't expecting to be named as one of the Young Ones. It's a very good look and we're looking forward to performing alongside a lot of great artists!

CELEBRATE MLK: Take a few minutes out of the day to check out HistoryLink's accounting of Martin Luther King Jr.'s one visit to Seattle and then head to Seattle Center for some of their events. The East West Bookshop on Roosevelt also has a "concert and program of tribute" from 7:30pm-8:30pm

The Seattle Town Hall is officially On Notice, for having the Elizabeth Kolbert Science Series lecture in the basement. Far too many people were interested in her lecture based on her climate change writing--we were third in line when they locked the doors and turned us away, and the line was still snaking around the corner. They're not quite Dead to Me, because Seattle Channel is filming Kolbert's talk, and will broadcast it online sometime soon for all to see for free.
