It's a new game that teens from Port Angeles recently took up, called--and we do not kid--"lighter fluid tag." All it takes is a squirt of lighter fluid, the swipe of a lit match, and TAG you're it! Until they (being friends?) beat out the flames. Ultimately, you lose the game and become charred barbecue. Awesome. Sounds like great fun, no? Even the crazy grizzly-obsessed man, who lived among--and was eaten by--the Alaskan grizzlies pales in comparison. Lighter fluid tag is truly Darwinism at its best.

Unlike Seattle's University District, the town of Whistler is a bit more used to living with, and near, bears. Over the past holiday weekend, we discovered just how close one can get, as the record-breaking snowfall from this past winter at Whistler means the bears coming out of hibernation this spring can't get very far up the mountain just yet.

Werner Herzog and David Cronenberg---the names alone are enough to make a crowd of film fanatics gasp. That's exactly why local den of cinema-geekery Seattle International Film Festival Group is spotlighting each filmmaker's work with screenings next week at the Seattle Art Museum; first Herzog and then Cronenberg.
