Smash the plates and grab yourself a gyro. Tonight, Georgia's Greek Restaurant and Deli (323 NW 85th Street), will be one of the featured stops on Food Network's TV show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri. We had heard about the filming back in January, but it wasn't until a recent stop into the restaurant, when we saw the colorful spray-painted "Guy Fieri Was Here" tag on the wall and chatted with one of the Kazakos family members, that we confirmed tonight's 10 p.m. air date. We're just glad to see more of Seattle's iconic spots (ie. Beth's Cafe, Red Mill Burgers, Mike's Chili Parlor) recently getting the recognition they deserve.

Jason over at Eat Sleep Publish has a beautiful post on net neutrality and the old vs. new economy. In Greenwood, the Food Network stopped by with cameras and Guy Fieri to film at Georgia's Greek Deli; PhinneyWood has photos. Don't try to pawn off your foreign currency on Washington state ferries, because they're not having it, reports Seattle Metblogs. Even if it is Canadian. Even Canadian quarters. Not allowed. And Slog is thinking about shoplifting, Whole Foods, and sausages in pants. (As are we all.)

Saturday night at the Moore: outside, long lines waited, people begged for tickets, while inside electricity was in the air, the crowd buzzed about what Anthony Bourdain might say. When he finally took the stage, it was a rock star reception—wild applause disrupted the start of his delivery for several minutes.

Seattlest doesn't know crap about jazz. (Until we recently drank a Brother Thelonious, we thought Monk was actually a dude in an orange robe.) But staple a big-time Seattle rock drummer (above, going off solo) to a jazz act and we're interested enough to listen and learn.

Back in Emeril's pre-Katrina heyday, chefs and serious foodies used to dismiss it as the Bam! network. Now it's disdained as All-Rachael, All-The-Time. You know, the Food Network, not about cooking so much as lifestyle (travel, glitz), weaponry (knife-wielding, cake-frosting) and tours of candy factories. Deliberate programming choices, made to draw viewers too sedate for Housewives and too chicken for Survivor.

This week we'd like to congratulate the -ist network's Mother Hen, Gothamist's Jen Chung, who found herself a recipient of Wired Magazine's Wired Rave Award. If that doesn't sound terribly exciting, keep in mind another recipient was J.K. Rowling. Yep, that's right, the -ist network and Harry Potter now have something in common. Go us.

Last time out, we succumbed to the power of the unappealing Entertainment Book. Could things get worse?

Blizzard of food notes. First, tonight at 9 PM on Food Network, with three repeats, Giada De Laurentiis visits Seattle for a food-lover's weekend. Kerry Sear at Cascadia reveals, among other things, his recipe for Alpine Martinis.

How can we put this?
