According to the guy who holds the "smile" sign at the entrance to the pedestrian walkway to the ferries, this truck started rolling backwards down the hill until the driver swerved into the brick stairway next to the Federal Building. Scary; because there are a lot of pedestrians around there and also because it's a big truck crashing into a place that's guarded 24/7 by cops who use those mirror thingys to look under every car that comes in. Funny, because for the past few weeks they've been doing work on these bricks. Seriously, there have been workmen basically taking a toothbrush to every individual brick in that wall, and they're not even finished before a truck blows down the whole thing.

Yesterday we heard KING 5 meteorologist Rich Marriott say that although this month’s rainfall would continue to break several records, we probably wouldn’t break the big one of most rainfall in a month.

You can don your black sweater and black jeans and join the march today, or you can get your ass out of downtown early. We suggest you do one of those, though. People are supposed to congregate at Judkins Park at 4:30pm and we've marked out the route from there out above. Over on Jackson, up on 4th, over on Pike or Union and down on 2nd to the Federal Building.

There's a whole lot of latino going on in the park right outside our house in the Central District. Normally our neighborhood is exceptionally quiet all day, save for the sound of baking donuts from Gai's, until the little league softball or pee-wee football teams start showing up around 2:30. So we were mighty surprised to hear quite the ruckus out in Judkins Park, and peeking out we saw at least a couple hundred people in the park--more than pass through in a month, we'd wager.
