Last weekend, a six-year-old boy named Sebastian Hizey from Puyallup was killed by a tragically errant flying piece of monster truck at the Tacoma Dome. Another man, Eric Smith, is still in the hospital with life-threatening injuries from another piece of metal. According to the Seattle Times, the Tacoma Dome doesn't usually have plexiglass, netting, or any protective measure between the audience and the monster trucks during rallies, but some are calling that policy into question. more ›

• West Seattle Blog has been covering a weekend diving accident at Seacrest which left one man struggling for his life at Harborview.
• The Central District News also spent the weekend updating and covering a sad story of two youth shot near Garfield High School. One of the young men died at the scene, while another was taken to Harborview to care for his injuries.
• Oh no. Now that Halloween is over, the Christmas/holiday lights and decorations are arriving. Capitol Hill Seattle reports the lights are already being strung up and down Broadway.

One of the sadder stories we heard yesterday, from a friend who was on the Portland-Seattle train, was about the 17-year-old Kent girl who was hit and killed by a southbound Amtrak as she crossed the tracks.
